Baton Rouge New Homes

Who doesn’t love new homes? I know I do, and even though I look at homes every day I always enjoy going to the Annual Parade of Homes sponsored by the Capital Region Builders Association.  That’s were our local builders, large and small, get to show off their design, construction, and creative skills as well as the latest in interior colors and finishes.  The turn out for this event is phenomenal and our Baton Rouge builders go all out to “strut their stuff.” The kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor living spaces built by local craftsmen are second to none.  You can’t walk away from this event without being inspired to build a new home or improve the one you’re in.

Compared to Livingston and Ascension parishes, Baton Rouge has fewer new construction options as many areas of the parish are already built. However, there is still land available in some areas and re-birth in others. Just take a look at the new homes being built in Southdowns and University Gardens, neighborhoods near LSU.  The land in this area is so valuable that old homes are being purchased and torn down and new ones built in their place.

There are new homes available in all price ranges.  Most of the new homes being built in Baton Rouge are under $300,000 and built with economy and efficiency in mind.  Who are our biggest builders?  They are DSLD Homes, Alvarez Construction, DR Horton, and Level Homes.  In the past year these 4 builders built 57% of all the new homes sold in East Baton Rouge Parish. You can’t help but be impressed by all they have done to bring quality and affordability to our area.

If your tastes and budget go a little beyond, we are fortunate that our builder community still has skilled craftsmen and women who can build that dream home.  Most new homes in the higher price ranges are customized or fully custom to meet the buyers’ needs.  You can buy a lot, choose your builder, your architect, and designer or chose from the homes already under construction.  If you’d like to learn more about the options available or have a new construction project in mind I’m happy to help you find the perfect place.
