Jefferson Place is immediately adjacent to Bocage. They’re sister neighborhoods that share a homeowners association and entrance. Like Bocage, homes in Jefferson Place were built on large lots and now have beautiful mature landscaping and trees. Although there are some newer homes towards the back of the neighborhood, most homes were built in the 1960’s and 70’s. Many have been updated but on occasion you’ll find one that you can make uniquely yours.
One of the many reasons why this neighborhood is so popular is it’s location. Jefferson Place, like Bocage and Bocage Lake, are in the middle of Baton Rouge, minutes from Towne Center, Whole Foods, the Bocage Shopping Center, small local shops, and restaurants. From here it’s an easy commute to downtown via I-10 or surface roads. The area’s largest hospital, Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, isn’t more than 10 minutes away. There are professional offices and business all along Jefferson Highway. Within the past 10 – 15 years the area has experienced a tremendous amount of growth, particularly along Corporate Boulevard. Even in the midst of all this growth, Jefferson Place and Bocage continue to be Baton Rouge treasures.
