Baton Rouge Dining

Louisiana cuisine is legendary and Baton Rouge has some of the best to offer. Of course we have national chains and, thanks to the tremendous growth our community has experienced, regional restauranteurs including P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Bonefish Grill, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, and Kona Grill have opened here as well. These are great restaurants and I would certainly give them a try. But what makes Baton Rouge unique is our local fare.

If you’re looking for fine dining try these. They are sure to please.

Mansur’s On the Boulevard: Fantastic creole cuisine in their new location near Towne Center. There’s piano music in the main dining room, classic Louisiana décor, and phenomenal seafood.

Juban’s Restaurant: The selections and service are wonderful, as is the wine cellar. A Baton Rouge tradition and intimate dining experience not far from the Keller Williams Realty Red Stick Partners office.

Not all dining needs to be fine but it can be uniquely flavorful and part of your Baton Rouge experience.

CC’s Community Coffee House: Baton Rouge has Starbucks, but we also have Community Coffee and CC’s Coffee Houses. Community Coffee is the largest family-owned retail coffee brand in the United States and it’s located in Baton Rouge. You can buy it online, at the grocery store, or in a coffee shop. These shops are all over town and you should give them a try.

Raising Cane’s: It’s another Baton Rouge success story. The company started near the north gates of LSU. They now have locations all over Baton Rouge, throughout Louisiana, and in neighboring states. It’s a fast food restaurant and all they serve is chicken fingers and assorted extras. Not anything like a nugget.

If you’re visiting the LSU campus and wondering where you should eat, try The Chimes located at the north gates of LSU. While you’re there check out the live bands and concert schedule at The Varsity right next door. Wondering where your children will get late night food in walking distance from campus? Try Louie’s Café on W. State Street. Great food, great prices, breakfast and more 24/7. If you don’t mind walking a little bit further or taking a 5 minute drive, visit Walk-Ons Bistreaux and Bar for food, beer, and sports. Geaux Tigers!
